We're TWO!!

We turned two on the 15th. Hard to believe. We had a fun birthday with Mommy, MoMo, Grandpa, Auntie Cher Cher and Auntie Cindy at the Rain Forest Cafe. We sat by the elephants and were scared of the gorillas at first. We've been very busy. We got new bikes and helmets and we ride our bikes at the park - we like Chambers Bay the best. We took the Ferry to our Anderson Island beach house and that was fun! There were so many rocks "Woweee" says Emma, she loves rocks. Emma sings Happy Birthday, she's practicing for MoMo's birthday. Henry is our best recycler. He knows which can is recycle and which is trash and is a great helper keeping our house neat and keeping us "green." We can say just about anything now, so watch what you say around us.
The neighbor's down the street have a big yard and they have lots of the neighborhood kids over to play (ages 4-8). We walk by and talk to them on our daily walk. Some days, when the weather is very nice, some of the boys play naked, playing with water and in the pool (that is until someone reported them - busy bodies!) Everytime we go by their house Henry and Emma look for the "naked boys" and they say, "no naked boys today". Henny and Emma like to be naked in their pool and yard sometimes too - ssssh don't tell anyone.

Rain, Rain and more rain...colds and runny noses and diar#@%# x2 UGH

Hello! What a rainy spring we are having. We have been shut in for days on end...ugh! We have had the flu/colds as well. So our mom and Momo are pretty excited for ANY sunshine we have. The other day we went out and played in the rain. We wore our rain boots. That was fun. We color with chalk and crayons some mornings. And talk and talk and talk. We can say so many things now. The adults have to watch what they say as we are like little myna birds and repeat everything we hear. We say "please" and "thank you" and we like "tiny bit" right now. And "maybe". We have lots of library books, oh and we can say "library" perfectly. Our favorite book this week is "Freight Train" which we can also say. We love "Olivia" and "Madeleine", too. Next Friday we will be TWO. We can tell you that our birthday is " May teenth" and we will be "TWO"! We have started potty training. We like to read while we sit. Emma is very intrigued and goes often, while Henry, not so much. It will all come in good time.
We always want to go to "Costco!" and we are looking forward to going on a trip with our Grandpa on his plane. Well that's all for now - more after we turn two!

A Blustery March full of new words and haircuts

Rain and snow and hail and it's March. We've been to the zoo, to Odyssey-an indoor playground that we love-and to the hair salon. It's been a busy month for us. We have soooo many new words. Milk, wawa, zebra, dump truck, peez (please), peet (pizza) (they love Momo's homemade pizza), and lots more new words. We know all of our colors, red, blue, yellow, orange, purple, pink, black and white and can count to 4 - Emma can count to four in French but when gets to four she says meow instead of quatre (un deux trois quatre). We are mastering the steps now too. Everyday we learn new things. Next week we are going to the Children's Museum and maybe a trip back to Odyssey so we can run and slide INSIDE while it still rains outside...we're getting tired of winter. We've done lots of coloring and reading this month. Henry knows about dinosaurs - steggie, T-Rex and the gang. They have place mats with dinosaurs and a map of the USA. They can show/tell you where everyone they know lives: Grandma Polly (IN), Aunt TuTu (Kris) & Mike and Josh (WI), Rachel (Canada), Aunt Pollyann and Ed (FL), Mick Mouse (CA) and his summer home (FL) and where we live (WA). Emma loves the Princess and the Potty book and has even pottied in her new potty chair three times! Well that's all we are going to tell you for now. Keep watching for more.

February already!

Well here it is February already! Soon we will be 21 months old and are learning and doing new things all the time. We go the library once a week for story time. There are lots of other children there. It is fun. We learned about the groundhog last time. It is snowing here today. We can say "snow." We can say lots of words: purple, turtle, no no, moon (we love the moon- we look at it every night), star, milk, and lots more. Today we colored with sidewalk chalk - but we were indoors so we colored on our chalkboards. We like to color. We read a new book this week titled, Corduroy. It's about a dept. store bear and the little girl who buys him and takes him home. When we go to the library next time we are getting Good Night Moon. Here are some pictures of us. As you'll see we're getting BIIIG (that's another of our words, big and tall.) We go to the zoo about once a month. Our favorite animals are the Beluga whale - Emma calls it a banana, the Tiger, the owl, the Meerkats and ET the Walrus. We like the playground there, especially the slide! Today we ate cereal, cheerios and wheat chex with blueberries and milk. We can feed ourselves pretty well. We like to sit at our new table and chairs. We have so much fun every day. We get along pretty well but do have our moments. Emma goes to time out for biting. That is naughty and we know we shouldn't do it but she slips up sometimes. Well, that' s all for now. It's nap time and our Momo needs to get some work done while she can! Happy Valentine's Day to all of our friends!

Merry Christmas!

We had a wonderful Christmas! We got a table and chairs at which we ate our Christmas dinner just like the adults, a pedal car, a rocking horse, trucks, stuffed animals, and so much more!! It was a very fun day. On Monday Emma got sick and had to go to the Dr. She has strep throat. She doesn't feel much like playing with her toys. On Friday Henry and Bumpa went to the History Museum to see the Festival of Trains. They had lots of fun. Emma went back to the Dr. as she has a rash all over caused by the virus. We hope she will soon turn the corner and start to feel better!

SNOW SNOW and more SNOW!

For those of you living in Green Bay and Indiana and other regions that get snow by the foot all winter long - pardon us as we are excited about our 8" and the fact that it looks like we will have a white Christmas for the first time in several years! And for sure for Henry and Emma's second Christmas. We got bundled up to go out and play and Henry pulled a Randy from Christmas Story - he couldn't get up! He had on his rubber boots and too many layers! But we finally got outside and played in the winter wonderland. The snow had a layer ice on top so that was a little hard for us little ones. But we enjoyed our sled rides up and down the street. We got about 3 more inches later that night and Emma would run out on the deck and get a handful and bring it in the house to examine.

Yesterday we went to see Santa. After a little trepidation, Henry gave us a smile and sat happily on Santa's lap. But Emma wasn't too sure and the longer we were there the more unsure she got. So the pictures we get will show her crying or being most unhappy with the situation.

Yesterday was also the last day for pacis. The old pacifiers went out with the recycle to go to "little tiny babies" that we aren't anymore. So far nap time has been a crying and screaming act for about an hour before we finally give it up. Last night wasn't too bad but Henry woke up about 6am frantically tearing apart all the blankets and animals in the crib looking for paci - he wasn't happy when he was reminded that it was gone.

Packages keep arriving at the door and we don't get to open them - what's going on? But we have had a lot oranges and pears and Momo is making chex mix and lots of other goodies. YUM!

Everyone: MERRY CHRISTMAS and our best to you in the new year!

Thanksgiving and Getting Ready for Christmas

We've had a busy week, Emma is getting more teeth and is not feeling so well because of it. And we have colds, Emma, Henry, Momma and Momo. We had a very nice Thanksgiving and ate lots of turkey, cranberries, mashed potatoes, hot rolls, brussel sprouts and pie. Emma saw the Rockettes on the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and now does "rockettes" (kicks) when she dances! Hilarious. We'll have to try to get a video of her.
On Sunday we decorated the house for Christmas. Bumpa put up lots of lights on the outside of the house and we helped Momo decorate the big tree in the living room - one of us was a little more help than the other - the little yellow haired girl was not into decorating I guess. Bumpa put up the train and Henry cut his foot on a piece of track. So now he has a "boo boo" to show everyone and a Sponge Bob band aid. We thought we were going to have to call the waaaambulance but he stopped crying when sissy gave him a kiss.

We have a Christmas tree in the kitchen with toys on it, one in the living room with lots of stars and lights and one on the porch with flags and stars. We put out the creche with baby Jesus in the manger and we have lots of Santas around the house. Our big play yard has come in handy for keeping us OUT of the big Christmas tree and train. So now that the playyard is busy guarding the tree, we are free to play all over the house and what fun we are having! We can't get into enough stuff - we love the kitchen cabinets and drawers - our Momo has lots of STUFF in there!

And, we just have to share this beautiful sunset!
